They love to twist.

It used to be that wisteria was a common material for everyday life all over Japan.
Nowadays, it is remaining only one area in Kyoto where you can take workshops.  The workshops are organized by the Wisteria Weaving Preservation Association.  The Association  members meet once a month to help new workshop participants and the work schedule spreads out for seven months. Those pictures are from the first three sessions of this year.
